Sayida Peprah-Wilson, PsyD, PMH-C
Sayida Peprah-Wilson, PsyD, PMH-C: Dr. Sayida Peprah-Wilson is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator and full-spectrum doula with nearly two decades of experience in clinical psychology and more than 20 years of experience as an educator and doula. She specializes in multicultural psychology, trauma, suicide prevention and maternal mental health, with professional experience across community-based, psychiatric, correctional and private-practice settings.
A nationally recognized trainer, consultant and speaker, Dr. Sayida provides education on cultural humility, implicit bias, trauma-informed care, maternal and perinatal mental health, birth equity, and the impact of historical and transgenerational trauma. Her work has supported healthcare providers, mental health professionals, doulas, birthworkers and community-serving organizations in developing more culturally responsive, trauma-aware approaches to care
Dr. Sayida is the Founder and Executive Director of Diversity Uplifts, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on improving the well-being of communities impacted by historical trauma and disparities, while increasing competence and cultural humility among providers who serve them. She also serves as the director of the Maternal Health Network of San Bernardino County. In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Dr. Sayida is CEO of Dr. Sayida Uplifts, LLC, her independent professional education and consulting practice. She is also a co-founder of Frontline Doulas and a founding member of the Sankofa Birthworkers Collective of the Inland Empire. An advocate for birth equity and human rights in childbirth, Dr. Sayida is a Movement Partner with the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and member of Black Women Birthing Justice. She has contributed her expertise to numerous regional, statewide and national maternal health initiatives focused on reducing disparities, improving health outcomes and strengthening community-centered care, including the Southern California Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review Committee, Perinatal Equity Initiative Committees of San Bernardino and Riverside County, and the DHCS Medi-Cal Doula Co-Design and Implementation Workgroup.
